The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the transfer of Germany-based NATO surveillance aircraft to Romania’s skies is a threat to regional stability.
The NATO military alliance announced on January 13 that Germany-based E-3 Sentry surveillance aircraft have been transferred to Romania to closely monitor the movements of Russian forces near the Black Sea and allied countries.
A spokesman for the NATO military alliance said that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine threatens not only the security of the allied countries, but also the security of Europe, so that early warning reconnaissance aircraft are moved to Romania. From January 17th, the reconnaissance aircraft groups will move to the capital of Romania.
NATO has also announced that the relocated aircraft will be able to detect up to nearly 1,700 kilometers, so they will be able to closely monitor the movements of Russian forces near the main weapons and allied countries.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marira Zakharova also said that the relocation of reconnaissance aircraft for the purpose of monitoring Russian forces is an indication that NATO is trying to confront Russia.
