Russian government news reports that a Russian soldier who is believed to have fled the battlefield opened fire on the city’s security forces in the Russian city of Novosibirsk on the border with Ukraine.
According to reports, the Russian deserter started shooting at the police who were guarding the entrance of the city and fled into the city.
Local authorities have warned residents not to leave their homes as they search for the fugitive.
The deserters have full weapons in their hands and there can be more than one person, so security has been increased. Russian news also reported that at least one police officer was seriously injured in the shooting.
